About me

I believe in creative approaches to address life’s challenges.

I’ve been working as a registered clinical psychologist for 32 years.

I’ve been in private practice in Bellville before relocating to Durbanville in 2003.

Through my training and experience I’ve developed the skills required to bring careful understanding, compassion and expertise to each client’s needs. I take my responsibility seriously and find the therapy process meaningful, rewarding, humbling and fascinating.

My approach

My approach to psychotherapy is integrative. It is a cultivation of overlapping influences that share common themes of understanding human behaviour. I combine theoretical sources with experiential approaches to be able to integrate multiple ways of understanding the human condition while seeking out techniques that promote emotional healing, personal growth and self-awareness.

Modalities include (but aren’t limited to): Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Hypnotherapy, Gestalt psychotherapy, narrative psychotherapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

I have an interest in natural science and philosophy.

When taking time off I enjoy off-the-beaten-track adventures – exploring remote and secluded places.
